Silver State Art Festival
The 2019 Silver State Art Festival ~ September 13, 14, &15, 2019
The third annual Silver State Art Festival, sponsored by the Nevada Gourd Society, is a gathering of gourd artists, basketmakers, wood artists, photographers and painters from the Southwest.
Our goal is to have a fun and educational festival for all who want to know more about the beautiful world of the natural arts. We will be offering three (3) days of classes on how to create art with gourds, how to weave a basket and even how to create a wood-turned pen. We want the public to learn about gourds and possibly encourage them to try this wonderful art form so
As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to educate and share our talents with the community. We also believe in benefiting other organizations in our community. Therefore, in addition to all of the wonderful art for sale, we will have over 40 donated items from the artists and our community to be raffled during the festival to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada.
We are very proud that last year’s raffle, we raised $2,200 for "Advocates to End Domestic Violence”.
We are hoping this year, with the community support, our donation to Boys and Girls will be even larger.
This festival is being held at the Fuji Exhibit Hall (across from Costco) in beautiful Carson City, Nevada.
